At Carman Hill, I mainly use UK manufactured cabinets and doors, and only work with tried and tested suppliers to ensure your kitchen or bedroom will stand the test of time.

Your Designer: Graham

I started my career as a designer in 2015 working for one of the national retailers. In my time there I sold hundreds of projects, but realised that I rarely got to speak to my customers again or see the projects when they were finished.

I have since worked for independent companies which allowed me to offer the personal service that I wanted, but I always had a longing to work for myself and offer the products and service that I felt would be best suited to my customers.

Carman Hill was set up with all this in mind and I hope to answer any questions you may have on this website. If not, please feel free to get in touch.

Cabinets:

Large range of sizes available as standard, with made to measure options as well. 18mm cabinets in a choice of colours. Manufactured in Northern Ireland. Choice of Trade hinges and drawer boxes or upgrade to industry leading brand, Blum. Check out the blog page for more details.

Doors:

Huge range of styles and colours available. Wrapped MDF, laquered, painted, solid wood options all available. Made to measure options in many styles. Manufactured in Northern Ireland. Please see the kitchen and bedroom pages for more information including brochures.

Worktops:

Quartz, wood, laminate and more available. Quartz worktops supplier is a local company based in Lancaster.

Appliances, sinks and taps:

Many brands available.

Neff, Bosch, Samsung, Hotpoint, Indesit, Whirlpool, Haier, Fisher and Paykel.

Franke, Perrin and Rowe, Shaws, Carron Phoenix.

Installation

I don't directly offer installation, but I can arrange all the trades for you.

I have many contacts with reputable local trades and I am happy to obtain quotes on your behalf and put them in touch with you. I will also work closely with them in terms of installation dates, deliveries, collections and more.

This includes kitchen and bedroom installers, electricians, plumbers, plasterers, builders and decorators.

You just pay them direct upon completion of the job rather than paying me.

If there are any concerns with the trades people themselves or any of their work, you would still come to me and I will help to find a resolution.

In my years of working this way, I have yet to come across an issue that couldn't be resolved.

Payment

Payment terms are 25% upon ordering, with the balance due before delivery of the goods.

Most companies will expect payment for goods in full before delivery. National companies will insist that you take out a finance agreement if you don't pay in full up front.

I pay for all goods in full upon delivery to me, so I will have physically have your kitchen or bedroom in stock before you pay me.

I don't offer finance as this adds costs to your quote. I'd rather be up front with genuine prices rather than hide the charges for Interest Free Credit in your quote.

I can take card payments, although BACS is preferred, again, due to charges. If you would like to pay your deposit on credit card to protect your full payment then that is understandable, and absolutely fine with me.

Price

Most people assume that independent retailers are a lot more expensive, but that's not always the case.

It is difficult to give a like for like comparison as product quality varies but to give you an idea I would say more than Wren but less than Magnet.
