I wanted a name that had meaning to me, and wasn't a generic word that might be used by other companies.

I previously ran a company called Affinity kitchens, but people would regularly mishear and call it Infinity. I also discovered more and more businesses in different industries using the same name, which left me with a bit of regret for not choosing a more unique name.

The name Carman Hill came from the name of a hill in Scotland, close to the area where my in-laws, Robert and Elizabeth Hay, grew up. The hill was one of their favourite places when they lived in the area and it is where we scattered their ashes after they passed.

I felt like this name ticked all the right boxes. It has meaning to my family, it isn't a generic name that you can find in a dictionary, and I feel that it has the quality sound that reflects the kitchen and bedroom products and service that I offer.

Hopefully it doesn't cause any confusion for the people in the area of Carman Hill. Whilst I do cover a large area across the north-west of England, unfortunately Scotland is a bit too far!
